Dana's responsibilities include development and operation of equity long/short strategies as well as quantitative research along with other members of the team. He is an expert on equity trading research and data and FIX-based trading, and has published papers in the Journal of Trading. Prior to joining Bailard in 2003, Dana was a managing partner at Mulsanne Capital Management, a principal in global equity trading research at Barclays Global Investors, a quantitative analyst on the statistical arbitrage desk at UBS/O'Connor (formerly Warburg), and a financial analyst on the money-market trading desk in the corporate treasury of Bank of America. In a previous life, Dana was a rocket scientist, working on ballistic missile defense at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Lincoln Laboratory, and an instructor in applied mathematics at MIT. Dana received his PhD in applied mathematics from the California Institute of Technology in 1990 and his BS in mathematics from Harvey Mudd College in 1985. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2000. He enjoys playing guitar, cooking, and playing classic board games.
